Come July 2020, Haro Sports will be hosting the first ever SUPER GT night race in the history of SUPER GT at the Malaysia SUPER GT Festival 2020 at Sepang International Circuit. UMP in collaboration with Haro Sports, will be the first higher learning institution in Malaysia with expertise in manufacturing the Formula Comet motorsports vehicle. The Automotive Engineering Center (AEC) has been working hand in hand with Haro Sports to increase the exchange of technology in the field of motorsports vehicles.
The collaboration involves efforts in research as well as transfer of motor and racing technology to UMP’s students and staff. Fahrizal Hasan is the Founder and Managing Partner of Haro Sports and Entertainment Sdn. Bhd.
Fahrizal has an extensive experience in sports marketing and management. He was appointed the Chief Executive of Pahang FC in 2016, responsible for setting the commercial foundation that has made Pahang a professional football club capable of being financially self sustaining.
Apart from work, Fahrizal is a professional race car driver and avid golfer.
Yamin Shafie is the General Manager of Haro Sports & Entertainment Sdn Bhd, and brings with him many years of motorsports, events, advertising and media experience and know-how.
Yamin has garnered in-depth and extensive experience organising major motorsports events as Head of Corporate Business Acquisition at Sepang International Circuit overseeing SUPER GT, Formula 1 Malaysia Grand Prix (F1), Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) and Malaysia Super Bike World Championship (WSBK), and onwards as a consultant to the likes of Formula E Putrajaya ePrix and Kuala Lumpur’s first street race, the KL City Grand Prix.
He is an event director with a passion for sales and business development, and a background in marketing. Mizal Ghazali is the Head of Marketing at Haro Sports and Entertainment Sdn. Bhd. He has been in the local sports industry for more than 8 years and a total of 15 years of working experience in various industry.
A marketing person by nature, Mizal started in sports with Frenz United FC Sdn. Bhd. as the Head of Media and Communications after he was seconded to PETRONAS Motorsport from Kopetro Bhd. He later founded his own Sports Agency focussing on Digital Storytelling and serves clients like PETRONAS Raceline, 100PLUS, NIVEA, Al-Ikhsan Sports and etc. Some of the campaign that he directly involved in was the Pescao55 for PETRONAS Raceline Moto2 team, SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017, MyPadang and many more. After a few years of client servicing, he then joined Al-Ikhsan Sports as the Head of Marketing.
